A milestone was reached for E & JW Glendinning on 15 January 2021, when the Dartmoor National Park Authority’s Planning Committee gave their approval to allow the extension of the quarry into Alston farm with the Decision Notice issued on 15 March 2021.
This has been a long and detailed process commencing in 2016 and the approval secures the future of quarrying at Ashburton for another 60 years, together with job security for the 230 employees.
