Case Study: Newton Abbot HospitalThe location and the design of this brand new hospital presented many engineering challenges, being built, as it is, over clay mines and on a flood plain. As a result, the quality of the concrete and stone products to be used on site were paramount - and Glendinning was called upon to provide a more reliable alternative when quality issues appeared with an existing supplier. As a result we supplied more than 4,000 m³ of concrete and supplied 18,000 blocks in the construction of the Hospital and neighbouring buildings. For the finishing touches, we supplied 240 tonnes of Gabion Stone which is used as a design feature at the entrance to the hospital. |
